Compositing is where the magic finally comes together. It’s the intricate art of seamlessly blending multiple disparate elements—green screens, 3D renders, atmospheric effects, and live-action plates—into a single, cohesive cinematic reality.
At G3D Studio, our senior compositors specialize in node-based workflows using Foundry's Nuke. We focus on exact color space management, physically accurate light wrapping, depth-of-field matching, and grain integration to ensure the final shot fools the eye perfectly.
Advanced Compositing Pipeline
Built around Foundry's Nuke, our compositing pipeline ensures ultimate control over deep compositing, multi-pass EXR integration, and ACES color workflows.
01. Plate Prep & Tracking
We begin by denoise-ing plates, removing tracking markers, pulling initial keys, and generating 3D camera tracks to ensure digital elements anchor perfectly to the real-world footage.
02. CG Integration
Using multi-pass EXRs, we individually tweak reflections, specular highlights, shadows, and ambient occlusion to perfectly seat CG assets into the live-action environment.
03. Grading & Blending
The final polish involves matching the optical characteristics of the camera lens—adding edge blur, light wrap, lens distortion, chromatic aberration, and matching the original film grain.
Applications For Our Compositing Services
- CG Character Integration: Seamlessly placing 3D creatures and digital doubles into live-action plates.
- Set Extensions & Matte Painting: Expanding physical sets into massive digital environments.
- Atmospheric VFX: Integrating fire, smoke, rain, and explosion simulations.
- Beauty & Cosmetic Retouching: Subtle digital makeup, age reduction, and flaw removal for high-end commercials.

Photorealistic Final Pixel Delivery
What compositing software does G3D Studio use?
+Our primary compositing pipeline is built strictly around Foundry’s Nuke and NukeX. For smaller, rapid-turnaround commercial motion graphics and light compositing, we also support Adobe After Effects.
Do you support ACES color workflows?
+Absolutely. We fully support the ACES (Academy Color Encoding System) workflow to ensure mathematical color consistency between CG renders, live-action plates, and the final DI (Digital Intermediate) grade.
Can you provide deep compositing services?
+Yes, our senior artists are highly experienced with Deep Compositing in Nuke. If you provide Deep EXR renders from your 3D department, we can handle complex volumetric integration, intersecting geometry, and atmospheric FX with precision.
How do you handle revisions for complex VFX shots?
+We believe in an iterative, transparent review process. We provide daily or weekly work-in-progress (WIP) renders via Frame.io or Shotgrid so your VFX supervisors can give frame-specific annotations, ensuring we hit the exact creative vision before final delivery.
Do you deliver the final Nuke scripts back to the client?
+Yes. If requested, we can package and deliver the final cleaned, organized, and annotated Nuke scripts (.nk files) alongside the final rendered EXR image sequences so your internal team can make last-minute tweaks if necessary.
